 Prospect Grange Citizen of the Year Awards Day

Special Meeting to honor our citizen of the year Nancy Via.  She is presently the head of the Prospect Historical Society and a volunteer on the Friends of the Prospect Library.  She has spent many years volunteering her time in various ways. Congressman Rosa DeLaura, Senator Joan Hartley and Representative Vicki Nardello are invited to help honor this special person.  Mayor Robert Chatfield will be on hand to help as well.

 Cheshire Grange Awards Night

Cheshire Grange will present its Citizen of the Year Award to Bob De Jongh. Bob has been a member of our local Inland Wetlands Commission for over 26 years and currently serves as its Chairman. Other presentations will also be made. A Tea Cup Auction, Social Hour and refreshments will follow. Entertainment for the evening will be by Kim Myers. Come and join us for an evening of fellowship and fun. Open to the Public.

 Oxford Grange Open House to kick-off State Ag Program

Rescheduled from April 20th -- The meeting is the kick-off of the 2012 State Grange Agricultural Committee program to grow spaghetti squash to be donated to the Connecticut Food Bank and local soup kitchens. The Grange, for the 2nd year in a row, will be partnering with the Ellis Clark Vo-Ag teacher Sarah LaRose and her students at Nonewaug High School in this project. We also wish to involve as many local citizens and Granges who want become involved in growing as much food as possible to help feed our less fortunate Americans who utilize local food banks and soup kitchens. Seeds and planting materials will be provided to attendees who wish to be a part of our program.
