The Sharon Library held a Volunteer Recognition and Recruitment Event April 4th and we had a table/booth there. Lynn Kearcher submitted an application to join our Grange. She was voted in at our regular April meeting and will be given the Obligation at our next meeting on May 15th. We noted that all 3 of the Selectmen in Sharon will then be members of Taghhannuck Grange.
We are still collecting G Notes and it is going well. We also voted to make donations to the CT Grange Trust Fund, the Hole in the Wall Gang camp, the Ct. Scholarship fund and the State Grange Foundation. It was helpful to receive money from the State Grange for our very successful Seed Kit Making Event community service.
As always, we are working on improvements to our Grange Hall. This past month grab bars were installed in the bathroom and thanks to Lynn and Debbie cleaning the kitchen during our program “Spring Cleaning In & Out”, the replacement bulbs were found for our chandelier So that is the next project as we need a tall ladder. Also, thanks to the outside workers as it was starting to snow flurry. We found about an inch when we left the hall. The hall now looks ready for our next Square & Contra dance on May 3rd.
Posters for our June 7th & 8th
Plant & Rummage Sale were handed out for posting as they have to be up by the middle of May. We are collecting donations at our Grange Hall on Thursday May 29th, Friday May 30th and Saturday May 31st from Noon to 2PM each day. Again, this year our sale will be a big one and our only fund raiser. We look forward to seeing some of you to the sale.
