FEBRUARY 9, 2025 -- Despite dwindling membership, we have been active. We hold our monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at Saint Marks Church located at 5 Main St. S., Bridgewater.
Every month we have two to four members volunteer at the “Loaves and Fishes” soup kitchen in New Milford. We have members that are very skilled at cooking, baking, and running events where food is served.
We served cookies and hot cocoa at the Congregational Church of Bridgewater after the Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 6th. Santa, Mrs. Claus and their helpers were there.
We will have a roast beef dinner this April 5 at St. Marks Church. This is both a fundraiser and a community event with the emphasis on community (in case we don’t make much money).
We make visits to homebound friends and people in nursing homes. we bring Easter flowers in the week before Easter and Thanksgiving baskets before Thanksgiving. We have many people in this situation that we keep in touch with year round.
On April 19th we will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Bridgewater Recreation Area. Kids can run for the candy, then get a picture with the Easter Bunny.
We plan on helping other local organizations. The Bridgewater/ Roxbury Garden Club has a plant sale in May, and we sell baked goods. Saint Marks has fundraising meals and Grange members will volunteer.
