In June we hosted a BBQ Celebration to honor our two Weston High School Norfield Grange “John Twarda  Scholarships” recipients - awarded to two amazing young women who through their  hard work and community service Jordan E. Gladstone and Leia C. Pinals launched their college careers at Roger Williams University and Hamilton College this fall. We held our  annual  election  of  officers  and discussed the Fair  plans/timeline and the summer to-do  list  leading up to the Fair in September. July & August our summer meetings and additional meetings were “all about the fair’’. Fair day in Sept. it drizzled but that  didn’t dampen our  spirits nor keep our visitors away...and the highlight of the Fair was the eating contests for adults & kids: corn-on- the-cob, watermelon and newly added donut...all with prizes awarded to the fastest eaters! Who knows what we’ll add to next year’s repertoire? Our Sept. meeting was  a  “walk thru” of the buildings & grounds to develop a strategic plan for ongoing maintenance and develop a “wish list” of projects. Our Oct. meeting was a “cleaning” meeting and we rolled up our sleeves and  tackled the upstairs closet and kitchen. In late Oct. we hosted a Water Station at the Grange for the Kiwanis Half- Marathon - always a fun time with DD’s and coffee/hot chocolate as a reward for the volunteers! Our Nov. meeting was the best attended in years!! We had 20+ people come for a delicious grilled steak dinner with the accoutrements that our Pres. Ray Fitch hosted for all of the Grange Fair  Volunteers  who   contributed to making our event a huge success in spite of the weather. This fall we launched a Paint Night series and last night we had 22 in attendance...a fun event and made a little $ for our scholarship and philanthropy  fund. Happy Thanksgiving to all and may your tables be bountiful with joy, good food, family & friends and laughter.
