October News from Greenfield Hill Grange

By Jim and Lori Golias

  October 26, 2022 --

Our annual agricultural fair was a great success! Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make this such a wonderful event.

Also thank you to our local Boy Scout troop 90 for helping to clean the grounds, set up, and help break down the tables. The manpower certainly is appreciated.

At our August meeting, Lady Assistant Steward Lori Golias presented the Greenfield Hill Grange with a wonderful surprise. Although the Greenfield  Hill Grange was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, no plaque was ever put in place to recognize this. Lori contacted the state and applied — and the plaque was received a few weeks later. A small plaque installation ceremony will be planned soon.

The Greenfield Hill Grange celebrates its 130th anniversary in January 2023.

As I write this, we are taking reservations for our Lobster Fest which will be held on September 10. It looks to be sold out and a great way to wrap up the summer. What a great tradition! Never forget— September 11. God bless those lost, their families, and those suffering from 9-11 related illnesses.

At our September meeting we held our installation of officers. Congratulations to all the officers, including our new President/Master Stephanie Thompson, Steve Golias our former Master will now be our Overseer.

On October 29 we will hold our Halloween party and dinner. Menu to be announced. Consumes optional. A November dinner is in the works.   For information call Jim, 203-259-8023.

Continued prayers for Ukraine. And thoughts and prayers to those who have family in harm’s way.
