| August 1, 2022 -- I would like to thank all of you that came out on July 17th to start the cleanup and pricing of the crafts at the New England Grange building. It was so nice to see everyone. We have a lot accomplished but will be needing a second day to start the setup. Normally this is done when the Store items come in (jams, jellies, etc.). I believe it’s the last week in August but will definitely let you know because at of the time I am writing this article, it has not been set yet. I will get a note in the next Bits and Bites newsletter but when in doubt, you can always contact me via email or phone.
If you would like to work in the Grange building during the Fair, they could sure use your help. Tickets will be provided as well as a pass for parking. You can take a bus in right up to the entrance. It’s very easy from there to get to the building. We can use your assistance for a variety of tasks from keeping the tables straightened out to helping at the register by bagging or if you have experience with a cash register. If you prefer, we also need people to collect donations for the Quilt that is on display. The money will go to an organization that Vermont has picked out for this year’s event. One last note, we would also like to open up the upstairs a couple of days if we can find a few people to man it. This year we would like to open it on Connecticut Day as well as Sunday, Grange Day. Please let Noel Miller know if you are willing to come on those 2 days.
And last but not least, we are excited to have Hillstown Grange hosting our CT Grange Family Festival. All winners will be posted in the October Newsletter. Don’t forget that the Lecturer’s Contests will also be held on Sunday, August 14th. Hope to see you all there to enjoy the Fabulous Hillstown Breakfast, The CFA’s Auction and much more!
