Grange mourns the loss of Peggy Prelli |

SEPTEMBER 29, 2008 -- Gertrude "Peggy" Roraback Prelli, 86, born November 30, 1921, in Winsted, died on Saturday (September 27, 2008). She was the daughter of the late Earl Roraback and Gertrude Bull Roraback.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Frank Prelli who died in 2007. She is survived by her children, F. Philip Prelli and his wife Maureen, Mark Prelli and his wife Cindy, Gail Prelli and her husband Charlie Bierce. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Prelli-Hester, Marie Keefe, Mark Prelli II, and Faith Prelli, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Earl Roraback, Jr. and survived by three sisters, Kathryn Millard, Phyllis Bierce, and Gladys Anstett.
She was a Golden Sheaf Member of the Grange, Past Master and 72 year member of Riverton Grange #169, past voting delegate to the National Grange, member of Mountain County Pomona Grange and member and Past Matron of Magnolia Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star.
Prior to her retirement, she and her husband owned and operated the Prelli Insurance and Real Estate Agency for many years, as well as Peggy's Clothing Store for several years. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with family and friends and sharing her talents of cooking and handiwork.
Calling hours will be at the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut Street on Monday, September 29, from 2-4 p.m and 6-8 p.m. with a Grange Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, at 10 a.m. at the Riverton Congregational Church in Riverton, CT.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverton Grange, the Granger Trust Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
