Around The Grange
March News from the State Secretary

By Todd Gelineau, CT State Grange Secretary

  March 7, 2017 --

It’s been a memorable winter season for most of us. For those of us who meet on Tuesday nights-it’s been challenging! It seems every few years we get into an “every Tuesday” storm pattern that doesn’t want to let go until spring. Hopefully we’ve “paid our dues” for this winter and spring is on its way!

As reported in the last issue, 990s are in process. If you have filed your own, please provide a copy of your confirmation to me to place on file. Otherwise, all Granges will receive a copy of their confirmation from me when complete.

We have received notice from National Grange that the shipping charges for Golden Sheaf and membership recognition letters will increase by 50 cents to $4.00. Please make note of this on the forms you may have already. If you need new forms, please let me know and I will be happy to send them out. Remember to use the pink forms for State Grange orders and the yellow forms for Golden Sheaf and letters 75 years and beyond.

As spring is nearly here, please go through your supplies and see if there are any items that may need replenishment. We have nearly everything you might need right here in Connecticut without having to send away. Let us know!

We also have an overabundance of Grange equipment (i.e. gavels, blocks, staves, song books, etc.). Please let me know if you have a need for something-- items are free. You just have to arrange for pick-up.

Until next time, keep warm and think warm thoughts!
