Deputies' Corner
Deputy Corner: Time for Executive Committee Reports

By Todd Gelineau, General Deputy

  NOVEMBER 7, 2013 --

Congratulations to the officers and members of Cheshire Grange No. 23 for receiving the 2013 Deputies’ Challenge award at State Session.  Four Granges were nominated for this award which recognizes Granges who have done outstanding work during the year or have shown great improvement over the previous year.  Congratulations also go to Taghhannuck Grange No. 100, Riverton Grange No. 169 and Wolcott Grange No. 173 for their nominations.  The winner was selected by vote of the Deputies after each nominating Deputy made their case for their nominee.  The program will continue for the 2013-2014 year - so do all you can to make your Grange stand out from the crowd in the new Grange year!

Executive Committee Reports have started to arrive in my mailbox and I would remind all to be sure to fill out all parts of the report and to be sure to include the information on the back of the form.  If your form does not have a back this probably means you have an outdated form.  The current report form is included in the 2013 Blue Book.

Granges are also asked to provide copies of the Steward’s Inventory Report when submitting their E.C. Reports.  Copies should also be available for the deputies on the night of your inspection.

New for 2013-2014:  All Granges are asked to provide a copy of the most recent update of your Grange By-Laws.  Copies may be sent to me at your convenience or they may be provided to the Deputy on the night of inspection.

Each State Session I recognize at least one Deputy for outstanding work during the previous year.  This year we decided to recognize Brothers Peter Keefe and Geno Piacentini.  While their work was outstanding, we are not necessarily recognizing them for their Deputy work during the year.  We are recognizing them for their perseverance in overcoming severe health challenges to perform their duties.  We thank both of them and all of the Deputies for their dedication to the Order.
