| JULY 10, 2013 -- At our June meeting, Tunxis voted to consider consolidation with another Grange. Letters have been sent out to notify everyone, and we have to wait to see if the Grange votes to accept us.
We will discuss it at our next meeting and then we will take a vote. If it passes, the books and treasury information will be turned over to the State Grange, at the next meeting.
It is very sad to see a Grange have to consolidate as so many have in the past few years. Tunxis was organized in 1875, so has been around a long time. I was a “late” member as some had been so much longer in Tunxis than I have been a member. Master Doris Shaw has been such a wonderful Master. She has worked hard and done so much to keep us going. A 55 year member, Doris just got her 55 year seal, and I want to extend my congratulations on many wonderful years of Grange work and service to the Order. We all say “thanks”, Doris, and owe a lot to you.
We will keep the Granger and members informed on what will be going on with Tunxis Grange No. 13. |
