Winchester Grange remembers Lucy Grohs

Lucy B. Grohs, 86, formerly of Pulver Street, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center.

Miss. Grohs was born in Torrington on June 8, 1924, daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Rubino) Grohs and was a lifelong Torrington resident. She was a retired employee of the Fitzgerald Manufacturing Co., retiring with forty years of service. Miss. Grohs was a communicant of St. Francis Church, a member of the Sullivan Senior Center and of Winchester Grange, and enjoyed bowling and square dancing.

Survivors include a sister, Marjorie Grohs of Torrington and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Yorker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at 10:30a.m. at St. Francis Church, 160 Main Street, Torrington. Burial will follow in Old St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. The Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
