Around The Grange
National Grange Proud to be One of Over 300 Members

By Nicole Palya Wood, National Grange Legislative Broadband Blog (1/31/11)

  FEBRUARY 8, 2011 --

Since 1868, the National Grange has been the principal national organization devoted to improving the economic and social position of the nation's rural farming and ranching population. Over the last 143 years, the National Grange has extended its reach to 2,700 local communities in 40 states, with over 200,000 members.

The Grange provides service to agriculture and rural areas on a wide variety of issues, including economic development, education, family endeavors, and legislation designed to assure a strong and viable Rural America.

Now, in the 21st century, the National Grange is just as committed to improving agri-business from the chemistry of soils and nutrients, to the biology of seeds and stock, and expanding the technology of broadband access to the internet.

The National Grange is proud to be counted among the more than 300 members of the Broadband for America coalition which is devoted to making certain that every home, business and farm in America has high speed access to the internet.

Nicole Palya Wood is the  Legislative Affairs Director for The National Grange.
