OCTOBER 2, 2010 -- The new Grange year is starting, vacations are over and the children are back in school. It’s time to get back to work. For Granges that have candidates in need of degrees I would suggest you contact your Pomona Master for the location of Granges that will be conferring degrees. You can also read the Grange columns in the Granger. Your last resort would be to use the welcoming ceremony in the alternative handbook.
There is no welcoming ceremony for the Fifth Degree so this degree must be conferred at a Pomona Grange. Do this quickly so your members can take the Sixth Degree at the State Session on October 22.
The State Session is fast approaching and final arrangements are being made. All Granges should know their committee assignments as they were listed in last month’s Granger.
This month will have the resolutions received up to printing time along with their committee referrals. Delegates, be prepared to start work Thursday evening.
Attendees to the session must register, those attending the celebration banquet must by dinner tickets and those staying at the hotel must register for a room with the hotel. Please be aware of the due by dates for each of these. Much of the information for this was in last month’s Granger. If you need assistance, call the State Secretary.
There will be a rehearsal for the Sixth Degree on Monday evening, October 18, 2010 at Good Will Grange Hall at 7:00 P.M. All state officers, Deputies and members of the court are requested to attend. Please let me know if you cannot make it.
As this year is an election of officers, this will be my last Master’s article. I have tried to make these articles informative, educational, inspiring and some times entertaining. I commend the editor and staff of the Connecticut Granger for the extremely fine job they have done with getting information to as many members as possible. I hope they reach their goal of having all Granges 100% subscribers.
Sister Marge and I hope to see many of you at this year’s session. |
