Grangers remember Pearl Godin

Mrs. Pearl B. (Vezina) Godin, 85, wife of Louis Godin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday morning, Sept. 25, 2010, at her home in Wolcott.

Born in Laconia, N.H., on May 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes (Dagenais) Vezina. She was a retired employee of Mattatuck Manufacturing Co. where she worked for over 20 years. As a Wolcott resident for over 55 years, she was a member of the Wolcott Grange, serving as treasurer and lecturer, the Wolcott Historical Society and the Ladies Guild at St. Pius X Church. She also knitted and donated hats for newborns at Waterbury Hospital and volunteered at the Nursing Care Center in Bristol.

Besides her beloved husband, Louis, Pearl leaves her four children, Roger and his wife, Kathy Godin, of Southington, Pauline “Penny” and her husband, Donald Gadbois, of Colchester, David and his wife, Karen Godin, of Glastonbury, Annette Godin-Pasquariello of Oakville; and other special family members, Debbie Godin of Wolcott, Fred Pasquariello Sr. of Waterbury and Phyllis Godin of Southington. She loved and will be deeply missed by her 10 grandchildren, Raymond Schilling, Robin Hall, Gary Schilling, Audrey Godin, Renee Tousignant, Kara Godin, Tamra Pasquarello, Freddy Pasquariello Jr., Katlyn Pearl Godin and Elijah Godin, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Vezina, and a sister, Arlene Roy.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1300 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, and then a gathering will be held at the St. Maria Goretti Church Hall. There are no calling hours. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church.
