SEPTEMBER 26, 2010 -- Hurrah! The Big E is here! The Connecticut Department of Agriculture announces that we have three agricultural booths in the Connecticut building with lots of support from the agricultural organizations from across the state. We have dotted our i’s and crossed our t’s so now, we need you all to go to the Big E and enjoy the booths and building!
Thanks in advance to all our Big E Booth Exhibitors for all their hard work and tremendous effort to bring the best of Connecticut for samplings - fresh oysters and clams on a half shell, yummy fresh scallops, honey, maple cream, spicy, apple cider donuts and apple pies, sweet and salty pumpkin seeds, fluffy omelets, savory marinated mushrooms, spaghetti sauces, cheeses, apple slices and a new garlic vendor. What we won’t do to keep the variety going..... and to keep you coming to the Connecticut Building! Don’t forget we have lined up 13 Connecticut wineries, with several of them holding tastings each day. We even have doggie bones for our four-footed friends—and let’s not forget our fiber folks and spinners, and educational displays like the CT Ag in the Classroom.
The Connecticut Building would not be the same without all of our ag associations. Many of the groups rely on volunteerism to assure there is a person to talk about their organization for the 12-hour days. Others take time from their very busy businesses to attend. We owe our thanks to these dedicated people and their volunteers for making the public’s visit to the Connecticut Building agriculturally-oriented and the most popular attraction of the building. See you at the Big E! |
