Eureka Grange mourns loss of Charlotte Lorentzen

Charlotte M. Lorentzen, 96, died Nov. 24, 2008. She was the wife of the late Carl Lorentzen for 62 years.

Born July 29, 1912, in New Hartford, she was the daughter of Frederick and Margaret (Kimberly) Minery. She was a member of the Eureka Grange in Nepaug for many years.

She is survived by her children, Lois Alender and her husband, Jack, of Tavares, Fla., Roger Lorentzen and his wife, Diane, of Torrington and Eunice "Nan" Pulica and her husband, John, of Torrington; her grandchildren, Debbie Powell, Cheryl Alender and Jackie Seward, all of Florida, Carl Lorentzen of South Carolina, Wayne Lorentzen of Winchester, Justine Lorentzen, who is serving in the Air Force, Kathy Balch of Torrington, Charlene Erskine of California, Dwane Pulica of New Hampshire and Dwight Pulica of Colebrook; two sisters, Edith Troughton of New Hampshire and Lucy Truskauskas of Florida; 15 great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. She also leaves her special nieces she raised from childhood, Florence Beasley of Florida, Lucy Peck of Winsted and Pat Perkins of New Hampshire.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Jim Minery and Alan Minery; two sisters, Eunice Bunker and Fern Mogob; and a great-grandson, Nickie Kelley.

The family thanked Laurel Hill Healthcare for its care during the past four years.
