| JULY 27, 2026 -- Aug. 14: The Dog Days of Summer
Aug. 28: Last Hurrah Before School
Robert Miner will again lead us through the next Grange year and most of our Officers remain in their positions; but happily we welcome two new Officers this year to complete our slate. Carl Johnston becomes our new Gatekeeper and Susan Grufstead will sit with the Graces as Flora. After Election of Officers at our first meeting in June Lecturer Sue instructed us in safety measures for exiting a car which has become submerged, essential information which we sincerely hope we never have to put into practice.
Our annual picnic was well attended. Delicious hamburgers and hot dogs cooked to perfection by our excellent chefs were augmented with macaroni, potato and three-bean salads and a plethora of delicious desserts provided by attendees. Dick and Carmella Tarryk provided a lovely background of tunes and Sue’s games kept all occupied until the shadows lengthened into darkness. Heads up, ladies! You are in charge of the August 14th program and the men provide refreshments. The tables are turned on the 28th with the men providing the program and the ladies the refreshments. And if these “dog days of summer” will just cool down a bit, next time we will tell you all about jammin’ July.
