OCTOBER 5, 2025 -- Oh what a wonderful 88th Annual Wallingford Grange Fair! The fun, the food, the fellowship! Thank you to all who came by to our 88th Annual Grange Fair, supporting the Grange, and helping us serve the community which we so love. We thank the Yalesville Fife & Drum Corp for performing our National Anthem. We thank the Bobby Loo Acoustic Duo for providing delightful live music during the event. We also thank all of our exhibitors for exhibiting in various categories from horticulture,
vegetables, baking, photography, art, and more. We thank our fair exhibit judges, the non-profits who came out, and all who helped run the many different booths at the fair. Finally, congratulations goes out to our Wallingford Grange fair committee including Kathy Bergonzi, the head chairperson, and all members of it for putting out another wonderful fair!
At the Grange Fair, the Quilts of Valor Wallingford Grange Group also presented three Quilts of Valor to veterans in the community. The veteran recipients included Navy Veteran James Drexler who served in defense and intelligence communications, and Air Force Veterans Egon Mordarski and Douglas Newell who both served in Türkiye in intelligence communications. These quilts represent an expression of gratitude meant to thank and comfort our veterans. We can never know their sacrifice while keeping us safe. These Quilts of Valor unequivocally say thank you to them for serving our nation. For all of this and more, we were proud to wrap these quilts around Egon’s, Doug’s, and Jim’s shoulders; shoulders that have carried more than their fair share, and hope that they bring comfort and healing to these fine gentlemen. We thank them for allowing us to recognize them.
