April 6: Veteran of the Month ceremony at the hall; 6:00 PM; Open to All; refreshments served following ceremony. Event co-sponsored in collaboration with Riverton American Legion Post #159
April 23: Open House at the hall to recognize Riverton Veteran Ted Sweeney on his induction into the Connecticut American Legion Hall of Fame.
Riverton Grange conducted its March membership meeting on March 7th with a packed hall. Connecticut State Grange Deputy Debbie Vail made her official inspection visit, and we were also visited by Connecticut State Grange Vice President Ted Powell. We draped our charter in loving memory of Brother Peter Keefe, a Past Master of Riverton Grange, and were joined by five members of Winchester Grange. In addition, we were so pleased that our pianist, Sister Mary Lou Keefe, widow of Brother Peter Keefe, joined us for the meeting and played the piano. The Grange continues to be very active in the community hosting weekly senior lunches, monthly veteran events, and other activities. On Sunday, March 23, at 1:00 PM, Riverton Grange and Riverton American Legion Post #159 will honor Ted Sweeney, who was recently inducted into the Connecticut American Legion Hall of Fame. This event is open to all.
