Dec News from Killingly Grange No. 112

By Penny Bennett

  DECEMBER 4, 2024 --

Come in from the cold and have a bowl of hot clam chowder this Saturday evening November 16. Along with your chowder enjoy a variety of food including clam cakes, French fries, onion rings and cheese sticks. We are expecting a complete sell out so come early or call ahead for reservations 860-884-1813. On Saturday 11/23 we are having our monthly bluegrass concert featuring Nick Anderson and The Shady Creek band. We are trying something new -Terry, our president is going to make BBQ pork sandwiches. It is made with cherry coke cola. Personally, I cannot wait to try it, it sounds yummy. At most of our events we will be selling homemade seasonal pies made by our own baking team. We are having our annual Christmas Potluck party on December 7th Don’t forget Santa knows if you have been naughty or nice so be nice and come to meet him personally and maybe even sit on his lap.

Last month we celebrated- our friend and grange sister Josie Steinbeck’s 100th birthday. Everyone had a great time at her birthday celebration! She has been a long-time member of Killingly Grange and has served as treasurer and flora. She has always been a supporter of vegetable gardening and has always shared her home grown produce.
