Membership News: Grange Strong!

By Jody & Jodi Ann Cameron, CT State Grange Membership Co-Directors

  DECEMBER 3, 2024 --

Whenever I hear Christine Hamp, National Grange President speak, she charges us to be “Grange Strong.” While watching the 2024 National FFA President Amara Jackson of Michigan give her final address to the convention last month she asked her members if they lived a “Connected Life.”

Both tag lines really resonated with us.

Are you, as a Grange member, living a connected life? Are you truly CONNECTED to your Grange, your members, your community? Are you CONNECTED with your Grange, do you go to meetings, offer constructive input, participate in discussions, offer guidance and counsel when needed? Do you accept defeat with grace and dignity? Are you looking to grow your Grange through hard work and support? Are you CONNECTED to your fellow members, supporting their  efforts,  offering  help  and support to make every event, meeting or activity a success? Are you including all members, new and old, in all activities, meetings and events? Are you preparing to “pass the baton” to the next leader? If you are the President, Lecturer (Program Director), Treasurer or Secretary, are you preparing for your successor? Is your Grange ensuring that you are not “the last one” to do these things and your Grange is poised for success in the future? Are you and your Grange CONNECTED with your community? Do you do outreach programs or activities. Does your community know you even exist, in a positive way? ARE YOU RELEVANT?

The 2024-2025 Membership Development and Retention Teams theme is “LIVING A CONNECTED

LIFE.” We will present articles and tidbits as well as some ZOOM Sessions and hopefully we can get back to an in-person session or two on the various aspects of gaining and especially retaining members. Are you ready to LIVE A CONNECTED LIFE? Are you GRANGE STRONG?
