Around The Grange
Jul News from Killingly Grange No. 112

By Penny Bennett

  JULY 27, 2024 --

What a night last night Pat hosted her famous roast pork dinner, it was a complete a sellout. Along with the pork dinner we served cake and ice cream for dessert and we also sold homemade strawberry rhubarb pies. We have a busy summer planned; in July we are going to have a chicken barbeque. Also, in July we will have our annual picnic for our members and their guests. On August 10 we are going to be serving clam cakes and clam chowder (all 3 kinds) We are fortunate to have Leon who is a expect in deep frying and also makes delicious chowder. We are looking forward to having our annual Grange fair on August 16,17.

Moving on to fall; we will be having a Lasagna dinner September 21 -we will be serving it to go at a drive thru or if you prefer you can eat in. October 19 we will have a homemade turkey dinner with all the fixings. Then on November 16 Leon will once again be serving his clam cakes and chowder. We will be baking a various of homemade pies to sell at all our upcoming events.

At this time, we are sponsoring a sewing class for beginners and we hope to connect with UConn Agriculture center and arrange to have a speaker on gardening and canning various vegetables and fruits.

Everyone at the Killingly Grange would like to wish our great country a Happy Birthday! Have fun with friends and family and enjoy the fireworks.
