Dec News from Beacon Valley Grange No. 103

By Joanne Cipriano

  DECEMBER 5, 2023 --

A new Grange year, a new theme. This time “Fruits and Vegetables”. Our Delegates to the State Session were Ron Gunther and Marianne Nielsen. We are proud to say we placed first in the Community Service Contest at the State level. We thank Chairperson Jean Meehan who keeps track of the hours, comes up with new projects and makes sure the report is filed on time.

Congratulations to Treasurer Ron Fischer who was honored by the students at Bungay Elementary School in Seymore at their Veteran’s Day recognition. Ron, a navy veteran, is very active in promoting the military and has spoken at many schools.

With Sadness we report the passing of Diane Godin a 54-year member of Beacon Valley Grange. She first joined Seymour Grange. When they closed, she joined Rock Rimmon Grange and when they turned in their Charter she joined Beacon Valley. She was Gatekeeper for many years, a position her husband Victor said she really enjoyed.

Our next meeting is our Christmas Party on December 8th. Pot Luck supper to be served promptly at 6 o’clock. For those who would like to participate we will have a $5.00 grab bag.

BVG wishes all our fellow Grangers a Merry Christmas and a Happy and healthy New Year.
