Around The Grange
July News from Beacon Valley Grange No. 103

By Joanne Cipriano

  JULY 11, 2023 --

For the first time since the pandemic, we had visitors for our 134th anniversary on June 9th. We were honored to have our State Lecturer Dave Roberts, Chaplain Charles Dimmock and Robert Charbonneau of the Public Relations Department visit us. Robert was our Musician for the night.

Continuing with our theme for the year, June flower is the Rose.  The hall was decorated with many vases of roses. In front of the Altar was a huge basket of crochet roses made by Grange women when Joanne Cipriano was Flora of the Connecticut State Grange 40 years ago. They were stored in her attic for the past 32 years and looked like they were made the day before the anniversary.

Our semi-annual raffle was a success. This thanks to all who donated gifts, sold, or bought tickets. Next raffle will be held in Decembers. Any and all donations of gifts will be appreciated.

We are continuing with our Spring cleaning. In the last Granger, I said we needed a window washer. Happy to say most of the windows have now been washed.

On July 14th our program will be “Water Lily” and we will have our officers planning meeting. Our August 11th program will be ‘Poppy” and will be our annual picnic with a potluck supper at 6 o’clock.

We continue with a tag sale on the third Saturday of each month from 9 to 3 and Open Mic the same day from 2 to 5. Our Grange door is always open.
