Jean Lundeen celebrates 80 years
  OCTOBER 2009 --

Taghhannuck Grange honored Jean Lundeen for 80 years of active memership and service to the Grange.  Jean joined Silver Lake Grange No. 135 in 1929, transferring to Taghhannuck when Silver Lake closed.  Silver Lake Grange was one of three Granges located in Sharon (Webutuck, Taghhannuck and Silver Lake).

Jean has been active on the State Grange level serving as member of the CWA and as a Junior Deputy.  She also served as Master and Lecturer of Housatonic Valley Pomona along with holding almost all the offices in Taghhannuck.  Currently she is Flora.

F. Philip Prelli, Secretary of the National Grange Executive Committee and member of Riverton Grange No. 169 presented Jean with her 80 Year Certificate.  Several members told stories of Jean’s activities in and out of the Grange.  The meeting was also attended by several members of her family, her church and personal friends and neighbors.  The evening concluded with a social hour and refreshments.
