July 17, 2021 -- July 21: America
We are happy to be able to hold regular meetings and last month had a very good video on Lyme disease. This is a disease that has affected many of our members and families. We have regular sessions on knitting, crocheting and quilting. These sessions are including members of the community.
We are making reusable shopping bags out of feed and seed bags. These will be sold to be a fundraiser.
We had a very successful yard sale on June 5 along with the community yard sale. We are having further discussion regarding the town wide event to promote local farms. This event is in conjunction with the AG Commission and the Economic Dev. Commission. We plan to have an exhibit at the Woodstock Fair that will be titled: “What’s in the Stone Building?”
A book club will be held monthly for middle and high school students. We know that it is important to include youth in our programs. We are reviewing our membership list to determine the awards that we can present to the long-term member- ships. A barbecue dinner and mu- sic program is planned for the end of June. This should be a popular event to be held outdoors. Including the public into our events is so important to make connections and gain membership. Our hall is also available to host events now that the COVID restrictions are eased. Boy Scouts continue to meet here and help with maintenance. Good to be able to hold regular meetings and see the faces of our members. |
