September 2020 News from Lyme Grange No. 147

Oct. 1: Meeting

Nov. 5: Meeting

It is now the Dog Days of August.   Our Grange has not formally met since March. An emergency meeting was held on July 22 to discuss our Fair and vote delegates to State Session.

The heat is unbearable, what with everyone wearing masks and social distancing, it is difficult. Some can’t breathe, some can’t hear with muffled voices coming from behind masks.

The wind storm that blew through Connecticut on August 4th has many of us in the dark. Maybe the electric companies will get moving fast and our power will be restored as soon as possible.

I’ve discovered head lamps. They shine bright LED light. I feel like a coal miner. At least using them, we can catch up on old magazines and books we’ve been putting off to read later. Now is the time!

I, for one, have been knitting a lot.

Remember, stay strong and maybe someday things will get back to normal.
