Around The Grange
September 2019 News from N. Stonington Community Grange No. 138

By Nancy R. Weissmuller

  September 8, 2019 --

Sept. 13: “The Birds”

Sept. 27: “and the Bees”

We held only one meeting in July due to the North Stonington Agricultural Fair and the New London County 4H Expo being held on our grounds the second and fourth weekends. Both fairs involve many of our members and their hard work is much appreciated. We would especially like to thank Mike, Bev, and Jason who dedicated their entire weekend to working in the food booth at the 4H Expo. We could never have made it without you. Thanks to all the other Grangers and friends who worked tirelessly to make the Expo a special weekend for all the New London County 4H kids.

Although it was a very warm night, twelve members enjoyed Sue’s program “From Bi-Planes to Jets;” and those ice cream sundaes hit the spot after the meeting.

With fall right around the corner it’s not too early to plan your Hallowe’en costumes for the party on October 25. The party starts at 7:30 with prizes for costumes and games, and there will be a cup social during refreshments. And if this heat and humidity would just go away until about the middle of January, next time I’ll tell you all about awesome August.
