Around The Grange
July 2019 News from Taghhannuck Grange No. 100

By Barbara Prindle

  July 8, 2019 --

Taghhannuck Grange had a very successful Rummage & Plant Sale last month. We made over $1400.00 and want to thank everyone who helped with the set up of the sale, donated to the sale and/or bought rummage and plants at the sale.

At our June 13th meeting we began a Memorial Book project with the help of Debra Tyler. Everybody told stories of past Grangers who meant something special to them. This will be an on-going book-making project put together by Debra, to honor those Grangers who have personally impacted our lives. Not only will sharing stories about past Grange members keep their memories alive, but it will affirm and inspire our living Grange community. The 5”x5” book can keep expanding as more stories are told.

Our July 11th program will be planning for our exhibit at the Fair in either Bethlehem or Cornwall. We will also have a round table discussion of what “local foods” means to different members. This idea for discussion came about because of an article in the May edition of the National Grange View From The Hill.

We are very happy to have four candidates for membership, voted in at our June 13th meeting, taking the Obligation on July 11th. Thank you Todd for agreeing to perform the Obligation Ceremony.
