June 14: “Ritual”

June 28: “Summer Beach Party”

We are sorry to report the loss of another Golden Sheaf member. Charles Ames joined the Great Grange Above on Apr. 25. He will be sadly missed.

We have been learning a lot about ships and watery things during the month of April. Lecturer Sue Pianka and her son, Charlie and daughter, Jenn constructed a magnificent map of the world on a huge blue tarp that covers the entire floor of the hall from the Lecturer to the Chaplain and Graces to the Overseer. After using it to teach us about currents, ship routes and other watery things, Sue turned it into a life-sized game that had contestants walking the perimeter answering questions about all things oceanic.

We will hold election of officers on June 14 with a short program on Ritual. Our annual picnic will be held on the 28th. Bring a dish to share to augment the delicious hot dogs and hamburgers prepared by our chefs extraordinaire. The fun begins at 6:30 with games for the kiddies following the meal. And if Jeopardy would just have six categories about the ocean and ships, maybe (and we could just remember all we have been taught) we could enter and beat the amazing James.
