Around The Grange
June 2019 News from Killingly Grange No. 112

By Glenna Bruno

  June 14, 2019 --

April may have gone but we still have “April Showers” and some May flowers.

Our Fish Fry events were a success with help from the Lion’s Club. Everyone worked hard, had fun, made new friends and made a profit for both organizations. Good job, Donald and team.

A Spaghetti & Meatball Supper for the 4H Camp was planned for May 17. At this point, I’m not sure if it’s spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna.

In June, we plan to have a yard sale co-hosted with friends from neighbors at Primrose Crossing Elderly Housing.

This week, St. Pauly, the collection company for used clothes, came to collect what was donated in our shed. We do receive a decent profit from that every month or two, of which we are grateful.

Our Stewards John Bennetto, mother Celia have been hospitalized recently but are doing better, convalescing. Also, this correspondent, Glenna Bruno, has been hospitalized once for gall stones and then for a heart issue. Guess she needs a new Energizer Bunny battery. Hopefully, better health for all in the coming days, weeks, and months.

Killingly’s Silent Auction was discussed for June 8. We need baked goods to sell. Nancy Arena is in charge. Call her at 860-455-5083.

We purchased and installed much needed new toilets for the hall.

We welcome a new member, Emily Griffith - welcome!

On the sick list are Bunny (Bernice) Pacitto, who is recuperating at a local conv. home. Nancy McCoombe is also on the list. Hope all will be feeling better soon.
