Cannon Grange News for January 2019

By Donald Offinger

  JANUARY 2, 2019 --

We recently enjoyed an informative program on Sous Vide, a fascinating cooking method presented by Bil Mikulewicz’s wife, Sarah.  During the demonstration she provided samples of turkey, beef, pork and vegetables to sample and taste.  A variety of recipes and resources, along with displayed equipment to make cooking in this method a success, were provided to the members and guests in attendance.

Starting off in early January, a Fair planning committee is organizing to get things underway with what will be our 86th anniversary Agricultural Fair.  2019 will also mark our Grange’s 120th anniversary as well as the age of our historic Hall; both having come to life in 1899.

Party rentals are coming in, as they help keep us in financial good health.  We’re hoping to host an evening of Silent Movies in March, but don’t have our date settled yet.

For those people who enjoy raising mushrooms at home with a kit, now is the time to get them ordered and going!   Nothing more tasty than fresh sauteed mushrooms.

Cannon Grange Hall is a heart-safe (i.e. we have an AED onsite) and gun-free premise.  Visiting Patrons are always welcome -- won’t you join us?
