August 11, 2018 -- Our 129th anniversary celebration turned out to be a great night. We were fortunate to have our State Master Noel Miller, First Lady Marcia Miller and Hank present. Also the Mayor of Naugatuck Pete Hess. Present to receive certificates were: William Brush, Jr. (70 years), Thomas Honyotski (60 years) and David Knapp (45 years). Kimberly Brush Tompkins was present to receive her father’s 65 year seal. Unfortunately, Robert Burns who was to receive his 75 year certificate had a medical problem and was unable to attend.
We honored John DeBisschop III, a Naugatuck Firefighter, as our “Citizen of the Year.”
During the program Ellen Brush won the Miss Congeniality Contest.
On June 23rd we had a bakery sale at WalMart and on June 30 we had a tag and bake sale and pancake breakfast at the Grange Hall. Both were very successful.
Our next meeting is August 10th. It will be our annual picnic with potluck supper served at 6:00.
Ron Fischer will hold the next Open Mic on Saturday, August 18th from 2 to 5 P.M. As usual we invite everyone to come and enjoy the music or participate. Snack food will be available. As always, everything free of charge.
