Around The Grange
February 2018 News from North Stonington Community Grange No. 138

By Nancy R. Weissmuller

  February 7, 2018 --

Feb. 9: Wherever you go, go with all your heart

Feb. 23: Snow date for Feb. 9, otherwise no meeting

Thirty-four happy people attended our gala Christmas party, seventeen of whom were visitors. We learned about Christmases around the world, with Jennie Watrous reading stories to the children who gathered around her on the stage. The children took part in the various scenarios; decorating the tree, hanging stockings on the mantel, placing shoes by the fire, wearing the crown of Santa Lucia and marching around the hall to the lively strains of Feliz Navidad. We all sang lots of Christmas songs before Santa arrived to the strains of Jingle Bells. His sack was stuffed with gifts for young and old and the smiles on the faces of the little ones were a joy to behold. The Grange presented apples and glittery ornaments to all before we adjourned downstairs to enjoy a veritable feast of Christmassy goodies.

Our February meeting will be a game night. We are advised to “Come ready to play!” It will also be the run-offs of the Talent and A-Number contests; so dig out that saxophone and brush up on your acting skills. If it happens to snow the meeting will be held on Feb. 23.
