  September 13, 2017 --

Sept. 15: Neighbors Night, 7:30 PM

Construction of the handicapped ramp is finally under way as of this writing and hopefully will be completed by the time this issue is in your hands. Another development was the annual July inspection by the fire marshal which uncovered several problems requiring a fix. The largest of these was of course the most expensive and requires repairs to several exterior doors. Out of all this, the back door has been fixed by our Selectman Jeff Haney (who is also building the handicapped ramp). Jeff installed a new code compliant door we bought several years ago for the north side of upstairs hall; he had to rebuild the door frame to accommodate the new larger door, and now we need a new panic bar for that. Surprise, surprise as they are expensive!

To finish these door fixes, the downstairs front doors will need to be replaced, and we have some quotes coming in. Another development is the requirement of a electronically controlled lock box, aka. a Knox Box, on the exterior of the building with all hall keys that will be accessible to the fire department. That and a few minor concerns and we should again be compliant with fire codes.

We have met regularly and enjoyed a mystery ride over the summer to the Oxford Baking Company “Coffee House” to hear Raye and her friends music. A summer picnic was had in August on the Belinsky farm, thanks to Glen and his mother Evelyn. The G.O.M.A.D events have been wildly successful, attracting many attendees and some many monetary donations to the Grange.
