Around The Grange
September News from Killingly Grange

  September 15, 2017 --

Sept. 4: Meeting

Sept. 16: Grange Fair

Sept. 18: Installation of Officers

Oct.: Apple Festival

At our meeting in June we voted to reinstate our information regarding the Apple Festival in Oct. because it was such a success. More on that. Keep tuned.

Grange Picnic was held on July 17 at Quaddick State Park in Thompson. We had 18 members and guests present. There was plenty of “Good Granger” food and it was a nice time and relaxing evening. There were four Grange members and one guest that were 90+ years old, still very active and mentally alert.

Our thanks to Linda Harkens and her friend Joe Pushadela for preparing and cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs for the picnic.

Aug. 21 was Golden Sheaf Night. Hopefully other Grangers joined us in celebrating this event as it is truly quite a distinction to be a Golden Sheafer in any Grange- 50 years in one organization is really something to celebrate. I’m sure there are still a few “still active” members around. We would be happy to see and we always have “Good Grange Refreshments.”
