Around The Grange
July News from Oxford Grange

July 7: Dogs

July 21: Summer Fun Game Night

You can’t rely on the Excelsior Pomona program book for our Grange programs from June to September as the printer left them out, so pay attention here if you’re coming to visit.

It’s taken a little longer than we expected to get the handicapped ramp up and going. Thanks to Glenn Belinsky for repairs made to doors in the hall. He has installed some pneumatic door-closing devices so there will be no more doors blowing open in the winter from people that go out without closing and locking them. We had frozen pipes in the bathroom this past winter due to this.

The Festival of Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (FACE) put on by the Cultural Arts Commission back in May featured some wonderful programs at the Grange: music by performers the Claudettes, and guitarist Hiroya Tsukamoto on Saturday the 20th, and a poetry salon on the 21st, all of which were quite enjoyable. Martin and Karen Earley are stepping down from Cultural Arts to devote more time to the Grange. FACE attracted two new members to the Grange.

The G.O.M.A.D. (Grange of Oxford Music and Dance) events have attracted 40- 50 people into our hall on the last Friday of each month since March. They are exposing the Grange and have people asking how they can help the organization. At each event, at least $100.00 in donations has been collected and put toward Grange hall repairs. One of the new members who joined us out of this group has expressed an interest in helping us explore the possibility of installing a commercial grade kitchen in the hall.
