October News Update from Wallingford Grange

By Dan Lauttenbach

  October 9, 2016 --

Meetings in August: August 25th – Summer’s End: The thing on most farmer’s and gardener’s minds has been the ongoing drought conditions. We are expecting the vegetable entries to be way down this year. The dryness in North Guilford area has been the worse I have seen it. Janet reported that all the reports have been sent for the CWA and we had entries for the craft and hat projects. We are planning for doing a setup for the fair on September 7. Jim reported that the date for November 10th guest speaker will not work and will need to change. He also said for the Bluegrass concert Amy Gallatin will send out a e-mail blast about a month before the concert to raise awareness for the concert. It was also suggested that posters for the concert be sent to the local community access TV. We are all getting fair books and posters out.

Upcoming Events:

October 13 – “History of Bluegrass Music” Program: Jim Lamoureux, Ref: Dan.

October 15 – Come to Wallingford for some great Bluegrass music with Amy Gallatin & Stillwaters Bluegrass Band. The band starts at 7pm. Telephone Jim or Lisa Lamoureaux @ (203) 238-1510 for tickets.

October 27 – “Harvest Supper” Pot Luck Supper @ 6:15pm. Bring a covered dish.
