Winchester Grange August Musings

By Todd Gelineau

  AUGUST 6, 2016 --

Aug. 9: Fair Set-Up

Aug. 13: Winchester Grange Fair & FleaMarket

Aug. 23: Awards Night & Annual Picnic, 6 P.M. Dinner

Fill up the car and head for the hills on Aug. 13 when Winchester Grange holds its annual Fair and Flea Market at the Grange Hall and on the Green in Winchester Center. Do you have flower, vegetable, fruit or baking entries? Bring them along! Lunch will be served all day and there’s the popular flea market on the Green. Admission and parking are free as are the fun and family atmosphere of the event. See you there!

Coming next month will be details on our annual participation in Winchester Center Days... a celebration of the fall season in Winchester Center. All four organizations (Fire Dept., Church, Historical Assoc. and Grange) team up to present this event which features food (of course), music, a car show, displays, demonstrations, games and much more. Admission and parking are free.

We have had inquiries about our 125th Anniversary Cookbooks recently. Yes, we still have cookbooks and are happy to sell them to you. We are now in our THIRD printing of the book due to the tremendous popularity. When the current printing is sold there will be 25 books in circulation. This is way beyond what we could have imagined for a small fundraising project initiated for our anniversary—especially three years later!

We remind our members that the St. Pauly Clothing Shed is still available at the Grange Hall behind the Post Office entrance. Every pound of donations results in a percentage of money returning to the Grange. As you clean out your closets, please remember to set aside some things for the Grange.
