Around The Grange
April 2015 News Update from Bridgewater Grange

By Charles Perry

  APRIL 2, 2015 --

The annual Bridgewater Easter Egg Hunt will be held once again.  The event will take place at the Bridgewater Recreation Area at 10 A.M. on Saturday, April 4, 2015.  It is located at the corner of Hut Hill Road and Sarah Sanford Road E.  It is open to all children from the Bridgewater and Roxbury area.  There will be three age categories for children up to ten years old.  This event is sponsored by the Bridgewater Grange and the Town of Bridgewater.

This event may depend on the weather.  If winter doe not leave us soon and the ground has snow or is very muddy it may be canceled.

We will continue having our monthly meetings at 2 PM on the second Sunday of March at Saint Marks Church in Bridgewater CT.

We have managed to have all meetings as scheduled despite the rough winter weather. Let us hope we see spring soon!!

The status of our Grange Hall remains in limbo as the town is still studying the plans and applying for grants. There may have to be a vote by the citizens of Bridgewater before anything will be done. All we know is that the Grange Hall is unusable for any public functions including our meetings. We will probably continue meeting in the hall at Saint Marks Church which is right next door.

Our master Nancy Mascio is working on an agreement to use the church more after March.

Our new members Riva Martin and Graham Baldwin ( The Connecticut Grangers of the Year ) have been on vacation in Europe for much of the winter. We sure hope it was warmer for them then in Connecticut. They will be back to run the Sullivan Farm.

Bridgewater Grange Secretary,  Dean Perry   (Written March 2, 2015)
