JANUARY 4, 2015 -- As you may have read in other places in this issue, Litchfield Grange No. 107 has rejoined the ranks of active Granges in the State of Connecticut. They finally reached the magic number of 13 newly obligated members at this meeting and received the Charter from Organizing Deputy Todd Gelineau and State Grange Overseer George Russell.
Now the work of becoming a Grange again begins. The first meeting of the Grange will be on January 8, 2015 beginning at 7:00 P.M. It will be time to elect officers and begin working on by-laws, policies and goals for this new Grange. It’s an exciting time for them and for the Connecticut State Grange to be able to reclaim a Grange that almost ceased to exist.
This effort alone proves that it is never too late for any Grange to go out and re-invent and re-invigorate themselves. It may take a lot of work but the end result is always worth the effort.
