Bridgewater Grange News Update for November

By Charles Perry

  NOVEMBER 21, 2014 --

The Bridgewater Grange has been active these past few weeks. We ran a booth at the Bridgewater Fair from August 15 to the 17th. We had free raffle drawings for various prizes including concert tickets for Reba Macintyre and Eric Church and other top country stars. We gave out lots of information and generated interest in the Grange. We have received at least eight new members and have a mailing list of 100 potential members.

We held our regular meeting on September 10. On Sept 12 we prepared for our first roast beef dinner which was held on Saturday Sept 13.

We also had a special meeting on Wed Sept 24th to prepare for our upcoming events.

We hosted an open house on Saturday October 4th from 2 to 4 PM. State Master Jody Cameron gave a presentation. We had pictures, information and a slide show for the public. The public as well as any Grange member were welcomed. We had our regular meeting on October 8th at 7:30 PM in the Grange Hall. We also opened the Grange Hall for the Bridgewater Halloween celebration on Friday October 31st.

The Bridgewater Grange will have six new members. Graham Baldwin, Maria Giannone, Riva Martin, Laura Miller, Neil Olshausky and Jennie Paragarino have all joined the Bridgewater Grange this past year. Graham Baldwin and Riva Martin run the Sullivan Farm in New Milford and they have been nominated “Farmers of the Year” by the Connecticut State Grange.
