Hillstown Junior Grange News for September

By Michele DeDominicis

  SEPTEMBER 16, 2014 --

We have had a busy summer!  Hillstown JGs had fun at the end of June with a fun meeting where we tie dyed t-shirts and had water balloon contests! then after a pizza dinner - we held our annual inspection with Brother Carl B.

We are proud to have sent 6 Junior Grangers to the annual Northeast Regional Youth conference in Nashua NH.  The Grangers had a blast meeting Juniors and Youth from all of New England and New York.  Here is some comments they had on the overall conference:

-  “I had a lot of fun and met a lot of others who are also in the Grange. We did many activities that helped us understand the Grange.”

- “ I learned about our Grange Heritage and about different people’s backgrounds and differences”

- “ I learned that by working together we can put a Grange Day event together - working with other Granges - and by having a plan”

- “ It was great meeting new people - and our rooms were good!”

They also learned how to say “Yes” in the Land of No’s.  Why people may be resistant to change. And how if you prepare accordingly, you can get even the “No Way Joses” to say yes!

We are excited for our very own Anna Greenwald who has been busy filming this summer for a movie based on Wally Lamb’s book Wishing and Hoping. She is playing a catholic school girl.

We thank all those that continue to support the Hillstown Junior Grange!!  THANKS!!
