Around The Grange
New London County Pomona News for September

By Nancy R. Weissmuller

  SEPTEMBER 7, 2014 --

The Cameron-Barnes team will install our officers on September 13 at North Stonington Grange Hall.  Master-elect Debbie Barnes asks that ladies wear regular dresses and gentlemen wear suits for the occasion.

Our popular Antiques Festival returns on Saturday, September 20.  It will be held from 10:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the North Stonington Grange grounds.  There will be a $2.00 parking fee.  Rick Spencer, who plays guitar, banjo and concertina and sings songs from by-gone days, will provide entertainment.  At this writing there are plans for demonstrations of caning, quilting, braiding, hooking, basket making, tole, spinning and carding.  Some of the demonstrators will have products for sale, and there should be antiques for sale, also.  Appraisers will be on hand, so bring an antique or two.  The fee is very reasonable.  There will also be someone there to evaluate antique buttons.  The food booth will be open with food and drinks for hungry Patrons. Sounds like an exciting day.  Hope to see you there.

Summer’s ‘bout over!  Hey where did it go?

I’m sure it was spring just a moment ago.

I remember the days when the time seemed to crawl.

Oh well!  Guess we’d better get ready for fall.
