Glastonbury Grange News for September

By Kathryn Ruff

  SEPTEMBER 1, 2014 --

As I am typing this article it is a beautiful summer day.  The humidity is gone for now.  I hope you all have been enjoying your summer.

September is installation of officers and the beginning of the new Grange year.  Do try to make the September meeting as the Installation of Officers is a nice ceremony to witness.

October is a busy month for us.  October 3rd is our regular meeting.  Then October 5th is the Semi-Annual Food and Boutique Sale.

We certainly need EVERYONE’S assistance.  Please mark your calendars and BAKE something for the sale.  If you have something for the Boutique/Tag Sale bring it to the sale.  Phone calls will be made to you probably about two weeks before the sale.  This is an important fundraiser for us.

The Monte Carlo Whist cards parties will begin in October.  This is another important fundraiser.  Try to attend and bring a friend or two with you.  It is a fun evening with plenty of refreshments for all.  Hope to see you there.

We do need to bring in new members.  Ask your friends and/or relatives if they would like to join.  We have applications and should you need some give the Master or Secretary a call.  Master Robert Nordstrom 860-568-2848; Secretary Kay Ruff 860-315-5336.

Sept. 4:  Installation of Officers, Meeting at 7:30, Potluck Desserts

Oct. 3:  “Trick or Treat”, Ref. Robert & Doris Nordstrom, 7:30 P.M.

Oct. 5:  Semi-Annual Food Sale & Unique Boutique, 9 A.M. to 12 P.M.

Oct. 12:  Monte Carlo Whist Card Party, 7:00 P.M.
