Ekonk Community Grange September News Update

By Sue Gray

  SEPTEMBER 5, 2014 --

We had a great meeting in August!  Mason Gray and Carly Sebastian were such great sports when they became human mummies (wrapped in toilet paper by Adam Griffiths and Jaimie Cameron)!  Richard Tavalsky won the oreo cookie stacking contest and Link Cooper won Jepardy by a landslide!  We had a float in the Moosup VJ Day Parade.  Many thanks to Mike Molodich, Paulette Craig and Jai Izzarelli for taking on this project!  We sent a total of 16 volunteers to help our Richmond Grange friends with Washington County Fair.

Clifford Gervais designed a new Grange brochure for Ekonk as part of his qualifications for the 2014 National Youth Grange Member Recruitment Award.  Paulette Craig sat at his membership table at our fair; Clifford was on the grill throughout the entire Fair!  Jaimie Cameron and Trevor Gervais are both applying for spots on the National Grange Youth officer corps.  Katie Molodich will be installed President on Sept. 15th and Link Cooper will become Vice-President that same evening.  Trevor Gervais is investigating placement of American flags across Ekonk Hill.  Mae Flexer is helping him with fact finding concerning this.  Wouldn’t it add even more beauty to an already scenic highway to have flags flying in the breeze as you drove across the hill!  Nice to see Sue Griffiths back at Grange and recovered from her surgery!  Visit us anytime!
