Ekonk Community Junior Grange August News Update

By Rebecca Gervais

  AUGUST 10, 2014 --

In June, we had  a table with scientific experiments for the Sterling public Library’s “Kick-off Summer Reading Celebration”.  This year’s reading theme is: “Fizz, Boom ,Read!”  The Bessette’s, Bonin’s and Ignachio’s were all a HUGE help!  THANKS!!

We met on July 4th.  Due to the holiday, attendance was down, we only had 17 at the meeting, but, we had fun!  Connor Sebastian had a fantastic Patriotic cross word, and a red, white, and blue balloon game.  It was a lot of fun!  We will be paying for Riverside Reptiles to come to our fair on August 9th.  His program is entitled “Jeepers Creepers”.  He will be bringing reptiles and creepy-crawly insects.  I am looking forward to holding a tarantula, and a 9 foot Python. We ended the meeting by making our own ice cream sundaes!  What a treat!

On July 6th, we enjoyed a picnic and games with our Subordinate Grange and Richmond Grange.  Great weather and awesome friends!  It was a super afternoon.

In August, we will be performing the Welcoming Ceremony for Ariella and Lilly Bessette.  Their oldest sister is our President-elect.  We hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
