JULY 8, 2014 -- The June meeting of Whigville Grange was a busy one. Three members, Helena Schwalm, Kathy Mackiewicz, and Charlotte Crockett all received their golden sheaf certificates. We were inspected, and returned to our own hall after wintering at the Burlington Town Hall. Our entries for the state baking contest were judged and an a fun, interesting program was presented by Sister Helena.
We will be hosting a special program with the Burlington Historical society on June 18 at 7pm at the Grange. The title is “Growing Local Roots”. Area experts will lead a discussion on agriculture in the area communities. This is a program of the CT Humanities Council. Plan on attending, no admission charge, refreshments will be served. If you are curious about what local is, and where to get it, this is for you. We may not all want to grow food, but we all want to eat!
The next meeting of Whigville Grange #48 will be on Wed., July 16 at 7 P.M. We will meet at the Grange Hall, S. Main St., Burlington. This is one week later than our planned meeting date. |
