MAY 6, 2014 -- As reported in the last Connecticut Granger we would be traveling to Oxford Grange for an Exchange Officer’s on April 4th. Well we did go to Oxford. We thank them for their hospitality. I will report on their exchange with us on April 11th in the next Granger.
This afternoon (4/5) we had an “Open Mike” afternoon. As this was our first attempt I think we did well. Thanks to Ron Fischer for the idea and for arranging the event. Also everyone who donate food or helped in the snack stand.
May will be a busy month. Our schedule May 9 regular meeting. The program is titled “Marvelous May” refreshments served by Mary Pranulis and Helen Niski. We will be judging the contest in the CWA department. May 17th we will be attending the Birthday Party sponsored by the State Grange Social Connection Committee. May 18th is our monthly bingo visit to Paradigm Convalescent Home.
May 20th (Tuesday) Pomona Degree Rehearsal. May 21st we host the meeting of Excelsior Pomona. Pomona will be Conferring the Fifth Degree. May 30th we will be celebrating our 125th Anniversary. Members who will be receiving membership certificates are: 70 years – Robert Burns, Robert Behlman, Mary Elizabeth Valentine and Althea Cook. 65 years William Brush, 25 years Susan Brush and Barbara and Roger Paonessa. It’s good to be busy – that’s what keeps us young.
