Norfield Grange news for March

By Lyn Kimberly

  MARCH 6, 2014 --

By the time this goes to print the Barn Dance & Dinner - “Fiddles, Farms & Food” will be a happy memory. Over 200 people (of all ages) attended this amazing event. Legendary dance caller Billy Fischer and his merry group of fiddlers, the “Contra Band” Wry Bred, spiced up the winter evening on Saturday, February. 8th, at the Norfield Grange in Weston for some good, old-fashioned fun.The evening started with a chili supper and corn bread made by award-winning chef Craig Charlton and those in attendance brought a bounty to share with a wide variety of snacks, appetizers, side dishes and desserts. This event was a community-building collaboration co-sponsored by the Norfield Grange and Wakeman Town Farm in Westport. And if you are in the neighborhood don’t miss the Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange now in it’s 4th season - featuring farm fresh seasonal produce, herbs, jams, jellies, honey, maple syrup, cheese, yogurt, eggs, beef, pork, poultry, seafood, baked goods, live plants, soap, body products, gift ideas, and more.
